New to acupuncture? Start here.
Most people feel little to nothing. The needles are hair-thin — nothing like an injection — and many patients find sessions deeply relaxing, even falling asleep.
Your first visit (sample 75 minutes) starts with a conversation about your symptoms, health history and goals. Then you'll relax for your first treatment, and your practitioner will outline a simple plan.
It depends on your concern. Some people feel a change in 2–3 sessions; longer-standing concerns often benefit from a short series. Your practitioner will be honest about what to expect.
Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal — sleeves and pant legs that roll up easily. You'll always be comfortably draped during treatment.
Many extended health plans cover acupuncture. Sample clinics provide receipts for you to submit — check your own plan's coverage before booking.
Have a light meal beforehand, skip caffeine if you can, and arrive a few minutes early. That's it — we handle the rest.
